michael jackson was born in aug.29,1958 and died in 25/06/2009. he was called the king of pop for his contribution to music, dance and fashinon, and that made him a global figure in popular culture for over 4 decades.
He was the eighth child of the jacksons. Michael debuted on the professional music since he was 7, along with his brothers in the jackson 5.and began his solo career in 1971.
In the early 1980s Jackson became a dominant figure in popular music. The music video for "beat it, billie jean and thriller" were credited with transforming the medium into an art form and a promotional tool. These videos helped to bring the relatively new tv channel mtv to fame. Videos such as "black or white" and "scream" make him a staple on MTV in the 1990s. Jackson popularized a mumber of dance techiniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk.

Jackson's 1982 album "Thriller" is the best selling album of all time. His other record "of the wall:", "bad","dangerous" and "HIStory" also rank among the world's best selling.
